2-DAY IMMERSION
When the World Breaks - Practices and Teachings on the Path
with Ashton Szabo
October 3 & 4, 2026 | 8 AM – 6 PM
(Central Indonesia Time WITA)
ife does not always honor the spirit in which we enter it. We trust, we love, we make plans. Then a relationship changes, a promise breaks, or something we counted on can no longer hold us. The practices we turn to in these moments have to meet us where we actually are.
How do we find our footing when the world we knew no longer makes sense? What can help us remain open to life while becoming more discerning about how we participate in it?
Over this weekend, we will explore these questions through yoga, meditation, and the stories of three deities: Murugan, Shivakami, and Akhilandeshwari.
We’ll encounter teachings on broken trust, anger, courage, relationship, and the possibilities that remain after profound change. We’ll discover resources for navigating uncertainty and cultivating a life rich in courage, intimacy, creativity, and delight.
Murugan brings us into questions of good faith, boundaries, and the distance sometimes needed to recover perspective.
Shivakami, through her passage as Tillai Kali, asks how we can honor grief and anger while making room for dignity, accountability, and a future. Akhilandeshwari, “the Goddess who is never not broken,” opens an exploration of vulnerability, emergence, and the support we give and receive in community.
flow of immersion
Each morning begins with a themed asana and meditation practice, followed by lecture and storytelling. After a lunch break, we return for sharing, journaling, and discussion, with time to connect the teachings to our own experience. Each day closes with gentle movement and further meditation, allowing space to settle and integrate.
This weekend is an invitation to discover what remains possible: to trust yourself more deeply, connect more honestly, and nourish the conditions in which you can thrive. Together, we will explore how to meet change with greater honesty, hold boundaries with care, and cultivate the courage to participate in life again… and again… and again…

ABOUT ASHTON SZABO
Ashton Szabo was first introduced to yoga in 1991 at the age of twelve. In 2005, he traveled to China to study esoteric Taoism and Buddhism—the same year he completed his first yoga teacher training. The following year, convinced he was destined for the life of a monk, he booked a one-way ticket back to Asia, where he completed his second yoga teacher training in Thailand. He then lived there for over six years, dividing his time between Thailand and India while immersed in practice and teaching. In 2010, he encountered Kashmir Shaivism through the work of Swami Lakshmanjoo, which led him to study these life-affirming, non-dual traditions more deeply. Influenced by these householder teachings—and profoundly by the birth of his daughter—Ashton’s path shifted toward re-engaging with life rather than withdrawing from it. He later returned to the United States, where he lived and taught for nine years while developing an integrative approach that blends modern postural yoga (rooted in Hatha traditions) with Non-Dual Shaiva systems such as Spanda, Pratyabhijna, Krama, and Trika, alongside elements of Sri Vidya. He immersed himself deeply in scripture and mythic traditions, while continuing his practice and teaching. He later co-created the Alchemy Yoga & Meditation Centers in Bali, Indonesia, bringing the highly developed traditions of Non-Dual Shaiva & Shakta Yoga into the familiar spaces of modern postural practice. This vision evolved into what is now known as Alchemy Yoga. Ashton now lives in Bali, where he teaches in-person classes, trainings, and online programs.
